Crytek continues to show the updated Crysis trilogy on consoles while comparing the remastered to the original releases.
Now it's the turn of the PS3 and PS5. In a fresh trailer, the developers have demonstrated all three games on both consoles, but it is important to note that on the PlayStation 5, all projects are launched for backward compatibility with the PS4 with a number of improvements - this is not a full-fledged port to nextgen.
As you know, all Crysis for PS3 and Xbox 360 worked with problems - the picture quality left much to be desired, as well as the overall performance. The second and third parts almost never were able to demonstrate at least 30 frames per second.
But the comparative video shows how the PS4 version for backward compatibility on PS5 works and looks better.
Remastered Crysis 2 and Crysis 3 will be released in September on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. On PS5 and Xbox Series, shooters will be backward compatible with enhancements. Unfortunately, Crytek has no plans for full-fledged nextgen versions of the games yet.
